SPRING
Did you know, the Shiribetsu River is famed to be the clearest river in Japan. But it is not just nice to look at, between April and May the snow from the mountains is melting making it a great spot for rafting, too! You can also enjoy Hokkaido's wonderous wild life while floating down the river.

AUTUMN
The main colour of Niseko's autumn leaves is the bright yellow from the Erman's birch. The autumn leaves shining through the rainy fog of the mountains is a breath taking sight you shouldn't miss on your trip to Niseko. Also, since Niseko is a mountain region, you can see different types of autumn leaves and wildflowers, depending on your elevation level.

WINTER
Thanks to a steady flow of cold air from Siberia, Niseko gets the best quantity and quality snow in the region. This snow creates a unique floating sensation you will find nowhere else. From beginner to advanced, anyone can enjoy Niseko's powder snow!

About Niseko

The name of our region, "Niseko (Niseko-an)", is derived from the Ainu language and means "steep cliff (with a river below)". Niseko Annupuri, where most of the ski areas are, therefore means "a mountain with a steep cliff (and a river below)."
The Niseko town is located in the western part of central Hokkaido, lying almost in the centre of the Shiribeshi jurisdiction.Niseko is widely know for Mt. Yotei and Mt. Annupuri but Niseko is also famous for it's nature, activities, mild summer and thriving agriculture. Come and experience for yourself the beauty of Niseko's four season!
